Kim, over at Starry Sky Ranch, has hit the nail on the head and explains why I have not blogged lately. Every morning I think of something neat to blog about, but it never makes it to the computer. I read this last night and knew it would be posted this morning.
Read her thoughts On Blogging.
This is a blog about my attempts to fulfill my duty to my husband and my children, in that this is the charge of my state in life and the path Our Lord has laid out to lead me to my ultimate and foremost goal of heaven!

Hello
Yes, I have been absent for over 6 months. I decided that I could not justify the amount of time I was spending on the computer. I tried just keeping up with the Google Reader which would show items I liked or felt informative from my favorite sites, but that too seemed to take up alot of time. There are an unlimited number of wonderful sites, and one post usually links to another, and that to another, . . .
It was very hard to break the habit of reading all the wonderful posts from all the wonderful sites out there. I thought I would miss something really important or some idea that was genius. Well there are some wonderful resources and ideas for homeschooling and practicing our Catholic Faith and I am sure I have missed out on many great ideas. Yet being more accountable for my time has been a blessing.
So now I reenter the world of blogging very slowly and with much discernment. It is Lent and I have three books going at once, along with the Lenten liturgical activities that accompany homeschooling and Catholic life! My next post will be on spiritual reading.

Monday's Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
Outside my Window...is a beautiful sunny day that is too hot for me when I go out! I prefer mid-70's instead of low 90's.
I am thinking...preparing for the company I have arriving on Tuesday and my in-law's garden that we will be working for them. Also, that I need to touch up the paint in the upstairs bath.
I am thankful for...the sunshine and calm weather, and that my 5 year old is in a cooperate mood today, and my 6 little tomato plants that are thriving in my little box garden.
From the kitchen...I am planning a light dinner after an evening of working in the garden and dreaming of the baked ham with many vegetables I will be cooking for my guests tomorrow. A dieticious (?) lunch of grilled chicken salad is on the menu for mine and my husband's lunch.
I am creating...a planting guide in my head for my in-law's garden. It is rather late to be putting seeds in the ground, so I am trying to decide what to plant.
I am going...to start stripping wallpaper off in my bath just as soon as we get the garden in.
I am wearing...a denim skirt and t-shirt.
I am reading...the same 3 books that I am trying to finish, along with 2 of the Narnia books I picked up this weekend.
I am hoping...to start stripping wallpaper tonight and get serious about some extreme cleaning!
I am hearing...the boom, boom, boom of little feet upstairs - whatever happened to the pitter patter?
Around the house...there is a dryer full of clothes, a pile of laundry, but the beds are made and the sink is clean!
One of my favorite things...cuddling on the couch to read a chapter book with my youngest son. By reading chapter books, he is always looking forward to getting back to the book to discover what happens next.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...planting, hoeing, watering, weeding, sewing, sitting back with some friends, planning a camping trip for this weekend, and making sure to stay busy! Oh my . . .
Here is a picture thought I am sharing for you...my youngest at our church's St. Joseph's Altar after purchasing a set of vestments. He bestows his first blessings on our priest!

Slow Down and Think to Enjoy
From The Simple Woman's blog:

FOR TODAY Monday, May 19, 2008...
Outside My Window...
watching the squirrel on my deck while my cats nap comfortably around them.
I am thinking...
of my husband who has left on a business trip and should be landing at his stopover right about now.
I am thankful for...
a beautiful day and for being able to be here with my children to enjoy it together.
From the kitchen...
planning chicken sandwiches for lunch and wondering about dinner.
I am wearing...
a light weight summer skirt with a spring colored shirt because I want to be sunshiny today.
I am creating...
lesson plans for the summer and fall. I want to be creating sewing plans!
I am going...
outside as much as possible. I will take a few minutes to read on the deck.
I am reading...
my spiritual reading which I am behind on (out on the deck!).
I am hoping...
to seriously start some spring cleaning this week.
I am hearing...
my 5 year old who is not as jolly as his mother today and his siblings trying to coax him into a better mood.
Around the house...
I really need to start that spring cleaning (is it summer yet?!
One of my favorite things...
is watching the birds at the feeders (when my cats leave them alone).
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week:
clean, organize, garden, and plan.
